Le parfait manteau style preppy, je peux vous dire que je l’ai cherché pendant bien longtemps.
Bien que notre chère Blair Waldorf ait remis cet imprimé très BCBG au goût du jour, il m’était impossible de mettre la main sur un joli modèle.
Impossible jusqu’à ce que je trouve celui ci, fort peu mis en valeur chez H&M dans le coin des articles au rabais.
Une très belle coupe, la longueur parfaite, et le tartan idéal. Enfin !
Ah le tartan, toute mon enfance.
Ma penderie de petite fille en débordait, et l’hiver, c’est avec une cagoule en laine et des collants bien épais que ma mère m’en faisait porter. En manteau, en robe, en pantalon, tout y passait !
J’ ai ainsi le souvenir d’une enfance qui gratte les jambes, qui gratte le cou, qui gratte le dos… enfin qui gratte quoi.
Des années plus tard, on peut donc appeler ça comme un retour aux sources.
Mais pour éviter de nouveaux déboires, et parce que je n’ai plus 5 ans, je porte cette fois ci le manteau preppy avec une mini robe toute simple et des bas.
Non, non, n’insistez pas, pas de cagoule on a dit !

I have been searching for the perfect preppy coat for quite a while now.
Although Blair Waldorf has recently brought this very BCBG trend back to the forefront of fashion, I was beginning to think the perfect preppy coat just wasn’t in the cards for me.
Or at least, not until I found this one, surprisingly stashed in a corner discount rack at H&M.
Nice cut, great length, the perfect plaid… Finally!
Oh, tartan, how you remind me of my childhood.
When I was a little girl, my wardrobe was filled with it, and in the wintertime, it seemed like my mom never let me leave the house without something checkered along with thick tights and a woolen balaclava. Coats, dresses, trousers; I had it all in tartan!
So now when I think of my childhood, I remember itchy legs, an itchy neck, an itchy back… Basically, I had an itchy childhood.
Now, years later, I’ve returned to the source.
But in order to avoid any new discomfort, and because I am no longer five years old, I’ve decided to wear my preppy coat with a simple mini dress and over-the-knee socks.
And no, you can’t make me wear a balaclava!

It’s a very preppy coat indeed, tartan is absolutely wonderful and my favourite print! I love how you wore it with over the knees socks! I’ve always loved them and wished I had more occasions to wear them!! Hmm, now I’m wondering what a balaclava is….

Je connais ce manteau. Vu chez H&M mais il ne m’a pas plu. Par contre j’aime le reste de ta tenue.

La couleur de ce tartan est parfaite! J’aime vraiment beaucoup, je ne sais pas si c’est les couleurs des photos qui le font ressortir comme ça, mais je le trouve fabuleux.

Aie aie aie j’ai failli craquer sur cette veste à carreau SO BRITISH! c’est vrai que la coupe est très sympa. en revanche pas fanatique de la matière qui gratte un poil, ne trouves tu pas? J’ai cédé à la place aux cris arrachants d’un manteau ceinturé dans le même esprit…
Sinon, pas de souci niveau outfit il se marie avec tout ou presque avec ta frange épaisse et ton petit cartable tu es prête à être élue THE QUEEN of Constance Billard!

I don’t know how the clothes vary, but at least in Norway, the stores are so full of clothes that I never seem to be able to look at them one by one. I just have to get out of the store as soon as possible, because it is overwhelming and boring and I end up buying nothing…
My question is; how do you manage to find all the good stuff? Do you look through it all? ;)

what i love so much about your blog is the high end/low end spectrum of your favorites. you can feature a chanel bag next to a zara dress and it looks perfectly natural. this is what fashion is for the average woman. i can buy a few pieces of designer to pair with today’s popular labels and it looks amazing. this is what magazines lack, everything is so high end that the average shopper can’t imagine it in their wardrobe. thank you for bringing it back to reality.
