Au niveau des bonnes adresses :

Bergmannstraße, chouette rue pour manger et pour faire les puces (mais je ne connais pas les horaires).

Suppenbörse (Dorotheenstr. 43 - M° Friedrichstr.) : boire un gros bol de soupe, yummy.

La friperie Garage (Ahornstr. 2), friperie super connue, pas testée lors de mon séjour à Berlin.

Les créateurs des Hackesche Höfe (Rosenthalerstr. - M° Hackescher Markt).

Juste à côté se trouve un chouette squat artistique (outre Tacheles qui n’est pas très loin non plus) mais je ne reviens plus sur son nom.

I lived in Berlin last year, so I think I can help! There are some super cool shops around Neue Schönhauser Straße near the S-Bahn stop Hackescher Markt. All in that area are all kinds of hip clothing and design/decoration shops. For designer stuff, the place to go is Friedrichstraße below Unter den Linden.

As for cafes… I’ll have to think about it a little bit.

Great Vintageshops are “Made in Berlin” (Hackescher Markt (there are also nice other stores), Neue Schönhauser Straße 19) and “Checkpoint” on the Meringdamm in Kreuzberg (big selection).

Je suis partie à Berlin en novembre et j’ai adoré. C’est une ville magique et très différente. Je te recommande de visiter la coupole du Reichstag de nuit (il ferme assez tard) et aussi de louer un vélo pour une journée. Il n’y a aucun danger vu que les cyclistes sont prioritaires sur les voitures. Me perdre dans Berlin est mon meilleur souvenir. Et essaie le currywurst… Passe un excellent moment!

J’étais à Berlin en décembre. Tu peux trouver quelques infos sur mon blog voyage mais pas forcément autour des fringues ;-))) !

Je te conseille d’aller flâner le long de la Spree dans le quartier de Kreutzberg, il y a un café qui s’appelle Freischwimmer (http://www.freischwimmer-berlin.de/) qui s’est installé dans des anciennes cabanes de pêcheur . Si tu arrives assez tôt (pas comme nous !) tu pourras même bruncher aux bords de l’eau. dans le coin il y a plein de petits bars clubs qui sont ouverts jusqu’au petit matin (http://www.clubdervisionaererecords.com/index.php). Et puis il y a aussi un bar qui fait plage (http://www.arena-berlin.de/badeschiff.aspx). Et pas très loin de vieilles usines avec plein de graffs où je suis sûre tu pourras prendre de chouettes photos. Il y avait même un vide grenier le jour où nous y étions. Et dans le coin il y aussi si je me souviens bien une cabine photomaton old school comme celle dont j’ai parlé il y a peu dans mon blog.
En tous cas bon week end. tu verras, il fait bon vivre à Berlin.

Je n’ai mis les pieds à berlin qu’une fois pour le Bread & Butter et je n’ai pas décollé du salon… Mais le peu que j’ai vu de cette ville m’a fait envie, j’espère que tu nous feras un beau compte rendu de ton voyage là bas!

You’ll have to go to Ostbahnhof on a Sundaymorning (maybe Saturdaymorning as well), outside there’s a small market with lots of curiosities and collectables ! Watch out for DDR-stuff, antiques and maybe vintage Peter Kaiser shoes !

J’aime tes chausseurs!! And I’m going to look into that red nailpolish, c’est magnifigue! As for Berlin, oh goodness je t’aime cela ville! You should check out the Freischwimmer (addresss: Vor dem Schlesischen Tor 2a, 10997 Berlin), il est tres mignon, right on the edge of a canal, great lunch place. But If your going in the evening, I would suggest the place right across the canal from the Freischwimmer, the name escapes me… (clap of the visionaries?? something…), fun and laid back, it’s a bar sort of. They have a big boat that people can hang out on and it floats down the river sometimes… Both of those places are kind of out of the city center, but totally worth a visit!
I apologize for the english, if I told it to you in french most likely would have no idea what I was trying to say…

Berlin is great, I happen to know Berlin very well because I live in Poland 130 km from Berlin and I visit a lot and I’ve been living there for 2 month few year ago. About shopping I sure that you’ll visit Kurfursterdamm (called Kudam) casuse it’s the most popluar part of the city with a lot of shops- KaDeWe, H&Ms, COS, Mango, Zara… Around it’s the most turistic part of the city. Zoo Bahnhof, Museum fur Fotografie (By Helmut Newtown, alway great exhibitions!), than TierGarten, and Unten den Linden is really beautifun street with all the goverment builidngs. Than there’s this great vintage store called Made in Berlin and it’s near SBahn station hackescher markt or Aleksanderplatz ( the whone neighbourhood is nice), also Prenzlauerberg in east Berlin is amazing,
Besides about shoping in cool shops you can find a shopping guide EINOOO , it’s free and really really useful. When I’ve been living in Berlin I managed to see every part of this city only based on shopping guide :D

One of my favourite spots in Berlin is Kauf Dich Glücklich. I am totally addicted to the icecream and waffles!

You can find it (and nice 50’s furniture) at Oderberger Str. 44 (Prenzlauerberg).

They have a fashion store as well (with a focus on scandinavian fashion) at Kastanienallee 54 (Prenzlauerberg). It’s called Glücklich am Park. You can eat waffles there as well, but I prefer the other one.

The breakfast is worth a try, too.

Hey Alix,
i’d really recommend to avoid places like the Ku’damm (Kurfürstendamm) on Saturdays. It is totally crowded and besides that, you will only find the exact same stores you have in Paris as well (COS, HM, ZARA, MANGO). I live in Kreuzberg and my favourite area is around Graefestraße and Dieffenbachstraße (U8 Schönleinstraße). In the Graefestraße you find this nice little Cafe MATILDA (it has this bright green sqare above the entrance, and it is to your right if you are coming from Bökhstraße and to your left if you are coming from Dieffenbachstraße). They have great breakfast and fantastic home made lemonade! I love sitting outside eating breakfast and just watching people. Then in the Dieffenbachstraße you find a nice Cafe called Schönes Cafe (Beautiful Cafe) with fresh home made waffels. There is a great italian bistro/restaurant with really good salads (coming from Graefestraße you have to turn right into the Dieffenbachstraße, cross the street and it is right beside the Chinese Restaurant which I can recommend as well!)! The streets are really beautiful and far away from any touristy places like Potsdamer Platz, Hackescher Markt, Ku’damm…. If you want you can keep walking down the Dieffenbachstraße, turn right and walk down to the Landwehrkanal (Berlin Canal St. Martin), or you turn to your left, walk down Grimmstraße, cross the Urbanstraße, walk down the Körtestraße (nice little Vintage store to your right) and then start walking down the Bergmannstraße once you crossed the Hasenheide and passend U-station Südstern. Check it out on a map, safer! you will walk along an old graveyard for a while until you find yourself in the more busy parts of the Bergmannstraße with cafes and little stores.
Barcomi’s Deli in Mitte is great to eat sandwiches (Sophienstraße 21, close to Hackescher Markt in a backyard). Always check backyards out! you’ll find stores, cafes,….you’ll never expect to find.
I don’t know if you like biking, but it’s a great way to get to know Berlin to rent a bike, because you’ll see much more than using the underground. And it might all look far apart, but it’s actually not. Mitte, Kreuzberg, Prenzlauer Berg, Friedrichshain is very easy to explore by bike. Or biking through the Tiergarten, then underneath the Brandenburger Tor, down Unter den Linden and you will see a lot in a short time. And i find it less exhausting than walking all day.
Oh Cafe Bilderbuch in Schöneberg (Akazienstraße, U7 Kleistpark) is great, especially the room in the back (old sofas, tables and a great old dollhouse).
Oh well that’s probably already too much information. I wish you a great weekend here in Berlin!

J’ai passé 3 semaines à Berlin l’été dernier.. je te conseille hackeshermarkt pour les petits créateurs et boutiques sympas, sinon il faut beaucoup se balader,tu tombes tjs sur un petit magasin étonnant… et puis sur Kudamm tu as tous les magasins déjà connus (h&m, ZARA, et cie)… n’oublie pas le floh markt (marché au puces) le dimanche, sur bernstrasse..

Bon moi qui vais à Berlin tous les mois et qui bosse en face du hackescher hofe, je trouve ça très surfait. L’intéret de Berlin, c’est tout le coté vintage que tu peux trouver ailleurs. Par contre le triangle Alexander platz, Hackeshermarkt et rosa luxemburg platz, y’a des trucs chouettes.

Moi j’aime bien Kastanien Allee : une rue avec plein de petits commerces et de cafés sympas.
Le kudamm (ce que les allemands considèrent comme leur champ elysées) c’est plutôt moche, mais l’église qui reste est à voir, vraiment.

En gros, on peut dire que l’ancien Berlin ouest, c’est resté très figé et un peu bourge, alors que le Berlin Est est vachement vivant et il y a plein de trucs partout.
Kreuzberg c’est aussi un quartier hyper vivant avec plein de fripes partout.

Si tu veux bruncher, descends à Wachauerstrasse et tu va à simondachstrasse : il y a plein de jeunes créateurs et les brunchs sont super copieux pour pas cher (c’est des buffets ou tu te sers à volonté)

Attention : les boutiques de vêtements sont toutes fermées le dimanche!!! Je te conseille de faire du tourisme ce jour là, ça sera plus simple :)

Han Berlin, tu me tues! Cette ville à l’air trop bien (comme Londres mais en plus hippie, underground (oui apparemment, il y a des villes plus underground que Londres lol) et tu es toujours aussi belle en Rock qu’en Romantique. J’adore j’adore j’adore.

bonjour Alix, je ne commente jamais, mais je viens presque tous les jours ici.

Si tu vas à Berlin, cherche la boutique de Bless, juste en face il y a un petit magasin où tu pourras trouver des broches et autres petits accessoires pas chers, il y a aussi plein de boutiques de créateurs dans cette rue (désolée, je ne me rappelle pas du nom, mais ça doit pouvoir se trouver via le site de bless) il y a particulièrement la boutique Lala, qui fait des soldes souvent.
pas très loin il y a un espace surréaliste, genre squatt de vieille maison, où tu pourras voir des expos photos, des tableaux, mais aussi des ventes privées à prix très interessants des créateurs situés dans ce quartier.
du coté de tiergarten, surtout le week-end, il y a souvent des brocantes et autres vide-greniers où on trouve souvent des choses étonnantes (en plus du cadre qui est magnifique)
Berlin est une ville de façade, il ne faut pas hésiter à rentrer dans les cours intérieures pour capter le mode de vie berlinois derrière ces immenses blocs.
en règle générale, le quartier du Mitte est assez génial, il faut s’y perdre un peu car il y a des trésors à chaque coin de rue. hackesher market, rosenthalerplatz…
voilà, amuse-toi bien, Berlin est vraiment une ville fantastique !!

i would recommend kastanienallee(u2) and also hackescher markt(you can go there by tube and s-bahn). you have really nice stores around these areas. on sunday i would suggest the fleamarket at mauerpark as so many others recommented here. there are a lot of independent designers selling their stuff there and you can find a lot of vintage things there. and there is always a lot going on in that area. i hope you’ll like my hometown as much as i do ;-)

Par contre le marché d’art le samedi matin à côté du Tiergarten vaut vraiment le coup.

Kastanien Strasse c´est plein de boutiques vintage!

Félicitations dès Madrid pour ton site, je te suis depuis quelques mois mais jamais je n´ose à t´écrire.

ps: Mignone allons voir si la rose…..m´a rappellé mes années de litérature française à l´ecole!

A faire, prendre un brunch le dimanche jusque 17h dans le coin de Kollwitz platz, un quartier plutôt bobo, où on marche agréablement autour du wasserturm, un vieux chateau d’eau soit disant habité et avec des bronzes de käthe kollwitz une sculptrice, qui rappellent les origines ouvrières du quartier. Mon adresse fétiche, le bar Gagarin, Knaackstr. 22/24.

C’est un bar russe, qui sert un brunch russe le weekend, le personnel est vraiment agréable, on paie plein pot jusque 15h puis réduit jusque 17h mais ça reste vraiment raisonnable, de mémoire 13€ puis 9. Des petits plats russes, la déco du bar est sympathique, avec tantôt des meubles ex rda et des meubles russes comme des meubles modernes avec surtout la ligne de trame de la conquête russe de l’espace, “echt gemütlich” :).

pour y aller, prendre la ligne 2 direction Pankow et descendre à Senefelderplatz, on peut longer le cimetière juif puis tourner à droite à la wortherstrasse et ratrapper la rykestrasse et la descendre pour trouver le wasserturm et le bar juste à droite, ou bien plus simple prendre la metzerstrasse en sortant du métro (sur la droite en faisant face à la montée de schonhauserallee) puis récuperer la kollwitzstrasse puis à droit belforterstrasse et là on retrouve le parc du wasserturm qu’il faut traverser/contourner pour trouver derrière le bar Gagarin.

Pour faire de jolies photos dans un endroit assez irréel. Pfaueninsel ” L’ile aux paons” une ile qui se situe à Wannsee, le seul lieu de villégiature pour les berlinois de l’ouest à une époque, un joli bourg avec un grand lac avec plein de petits ferries. C’est une ile donc à laquelle on ne peut accéder qu’en prenant l’espace de deux minutes une embarcation aux alentours de 2€, l’ile plutôt protégée est habitée de nombreux paons en liberté et certains en cage. Les paons y sont peu farouches et font la roue allègrement.
Très beau coin, tranquille avec un petit chateau reconverti en musée, franchement dépaysant.

Pour aller à Pfaueninsel, prendre le Sbahn direction potsdam ou wannsee (soit s7 soit s1), s’arrêter à wannsee et prendre le vieux bus 218 aux allures de bus anglais, il vous dépose pile là où prendre l’embarcation.

Some of my favortie places have already been mentioned here. Some other places:

Bar:
Newton Bar at Gendarmemarkt. It is expensive but if you just sit inside for a drink to look at Newtons Photographs its a MUST!

Close to the Newton Bar is the best chocolate shop in the world. They have bout 200 different types of pralines and as much chocolate as you can imgaine. The cafe upstairs is not so good but the shop is great!

Friedrichstrasse, Quatier 206. Its an department store and although everyone recommends the KaDeWe do I prefer Quatier 206. The sales people are unbelievble nice and helpful and their collection of shoes and clothes is great. Also do they have all year great sales on certain items. CHECK IT OUT!

Haeckischer Markt, Oranienburger strasee. There is an american diner which sells american food (Hamurgers, french fries etc) the portions are big, the price is cheap and the diner is all in the american style. Great place for dinner…so after shopping at haeckischer markt you should check it out. If i remember correctly its at a corner.

Je ne sais pas si tu lis les commentaires jusqu’au bout, mais j’apporte quand même ma petite contribution ;)
Si tu vas à Berlin je te conseille le musée juif de l’architecte Libeskind. Ce bâtiment est plus qu’un musée, il est aussi une vrai oeuvre artistique et une expérience intérieure très interessante. Sinon le Reichtag (à visiter de jour, ou encore mieux, de nuit). Juste à côté la porte de Brandebourg. Chek Point Charlie et le nouveau quartier de la Potsdamer Platz. En spécialité comme dit précédement goute la Currywurst avec une bière et en dessert un Eierschecke (un genre de gâteau au fromage).
Und ich wünsche Dir eine gute Reise ;)

Mais les voilà !!!!! Les chaussures que je cherche désespéremment depuis 1 mois et demi pour aller avec ma robe pour le mariage de la semaine prochaine !!!! Vas-tu être ma sauveuse ? Où puis-je les trouver ?!!!!! A l’aide !!! :)
PS : Pour Berlin, je ne connais pas bien mais l’ile aux musées est fabuleuse… pour les musées ! Et il faut absolument aller dans les endroits spéciaux petits déj : les cartes sont à se damner entre les gaufres maison et les jus de fruits frais ! Mmmmh ! :)

I know this comes a bit late – you probably already have your days all planned out – anyway, these are some tips from a berlin girl….

Don’t waste your time going to ku’damm or friedrichstraße, you won’t find anything there you couldn’t find in paris, so skip that.

On sunday, go to the fleamarket! Mauerpark is a great choice. While you are there, walk down oderberger straße and have some fresh waffeln at “kauf dich glücklich” or some other place. And don’t miss the prater biergarten off kastanienallee! Have a bratwurst and some kartoffelsalat while you are there.

If you still don’t have a fixed plan for saturday: go to a nice café and share a grosses frühstück( big breakfast) –it’s usually enough for two.
Hire a bike!! Then head to alexanderplatz and have a drink at the panoramic rotating café on top of the tv tower. When you are down again.pass by the weltzeituhr and to the karl-marx-allee – there you will see some modernist socialist architecture and a lot of kitschy socialist architecture- yes, you are in east berlin.
Carry on till frankfurter tor, where you will find a five floor second hand store- humana(closes at 4 pm on saturdays).
Some hundred meters away- at Frankfurter Allee 89 you will find berlinomat, a berlin design shop(closes at 8 pm).

Head to your right, direction boxhagener platz, gärtnerstraße,simon-dach-straße and kopernikusstraße for some nice little shops and cafes etc.
Then go to warschauer straße 60 and you will find a photoautomat, where for just two euro you can get an oldfashioned strip of four b/w photo.

Cross the railtracks and you will get to oberbaumbrücke, one of berlins landmarks. To your right you can visit east side gallery, basically a strip of several hundred meters of the berlin wall painted by artists back in 1990.

Cross the oberbaumbrücke to get to kreuzberg- you are now in west berlin.
Take the first turn left- on schlesische straße you find some nice little shops, cafes and bars. When you cross the kanal you can go to Heinz minki- the cutest little biergarten ever- a really nostalgic and enchanted little place hidden behind an old red brick house.
Further along you will get to freischwimmer and club der visionäre on the water- highly recommended by anyone who’s ever been there.

Now you could just stay there- or if you feel like it continue your biking trip down the landwehrkanal….to ankerklause on kottbusser brücke- or watch the sunset on admiralbrücke – or party at kottbusser tor or oranienstraße or wrangelstraße ……

Those shoes are from urban outfitters, right ? I’ve seen them before in blog called fashion flash but can’t find from urban’s websites ! I need to have these and I am maybe going to Stockholm this summer (I live in Helsinki) so I could visit the urban store they have in there. Do you know the situation of these shoes, are they sold out ? And hey how much did they cost, in euros ?
