Le parfait manteau style preppy, je peux vous dire que je l’ai cherché pendant bien longtemps.

Bien que notre chère Blair Waldorf ait remis cet imprimé très BCBG au goût du jour, il m’était impossible de mettre la main sur un joli modèle.

Impossible jusqu’à ce que je trouve celui ci, fort peu mis en valeur chez H&M dans le coin des articles au rabais.

Une très belle coupe, la longueur parfaite, et le tartan idéal. Enfin !

Ah le tartan, toute mon enfance.

Ma penderie de petite fille en débordait, et l’hiver, c’est avec une cagoule en laine et des collants bien épais que ma mère m’en faisait porter. En manteau, en robe, en pantalon, tout y passait !

J’ ai ainsi le souvenir d’une enfance qui gratte les jambes, qui gratte le cou, qui gratte le dos… enfin qui gratte quoi.

Des années plus tard, on peut donc appeler ça comme un retour aux sources.

Mais pour éviter de nouveaux déboires, et parce que je n’ai plus 5 ans, je porte cette fois ci le manteau preppy avec une mini robe toute simple et des bas.

Non, non, n’insistez pas, pas de cagoule on a dit !

I have been searching for the perfect preppy coat for quite a while now.

Although Blair Waldorf has recently brought this very BCBG trend back to the forefront of fashion, I was beginning to think the perfect preppy coat just wasn’t in the cards for me.

Or at least, not until I found this one, surprisingly stashed in a corner discount rack at H&M.

Nice cut, great length, the perfect plaid… Finally!

Oh, tartan, how you remind me of my childhood.

When I was a little girl, my wardrobe was filled with it, and in the wintertime, it seemed like my mom never let me leave the house without something checkered along with thick tights and a woolen balaclava. Coats, dresses, trousers; I had it all in tartan!

So now when I think of my childhood, I remember itchy legs, an itchy neck, an itchy back… Basically, I had an itchy childhood.

Now, years later, I’ve returned to the source.

But in order to avoid any new discomfort, and because I am no longer five years old, I’ve decided to wear my preppy coat with a simple mini dress and over-the-knee socks.

And no, you can’t make me wear a balaclava!

Entre ciel bleu et grosses averses, le ciel parisien ne sait plus sur quel pied danser.

Dans de telles conditions, j’ai trouvé le bon compromis: un long cardigan, à mis chemin entre le simple pull et le manteau.

Je l’associerai sans doute avec de longs gants et une écharpe bien épaisse lorsque les degrés continueront à chuter.

De gris, du marron et du beige, c’est tout ce que j’ai envie de porter en ce moment.

Et puis des grands sacs d’inspiration vintage pour y loger toute ma maison. Convoité depuis pas mal de temps, j’ai enfin réussi à me procurer ce modèle miu miu, qui va m’accompagner tous l’hiver je le sens.

Un pull bien chaud et douillet, un sac suffisamment large pour y fourrer une cargaison de mouchoirs, l’hiver menaçant ne me fait plus peur !

Between blue skies and wicked storms, sometimes it feels like the Parisian sky is having a bit of an identity crisis.

On days like these, I’ve come up with a solution: to wear a long cardigan that is half sweater, half coat.

Without a doubt, I’ll probably marry this look with long gloves and a thick scarf for when temperatures start to plummet.

Grey and maroon and beige… It’s all I feel like wearing these days.

And then there are those super inspirational vintage handbags where I can stash away everything I own.

I finally got my hands on this Miu Miu purse, which I’ve been coveting for quite a while now, and I’ve got a sneaking suspicion that it’s probably going to be following me around all year.

Now that I’ve got a warm fuzzy sweater and a bag so big that I could probably fit an entire truckload of handkerchiefs in it, the evil winter doesn’t scare me anymore!
