Calaveras & Pan de Muerto

-

There’s many different markets in Mexico City, each of them with its own peculiarities (my visit into the voodoo market will remain unforgettable )

My favorite is the “Mercado Ciudadela.”

There are many delightful objects there (painted Calaveras, clothing, accessories, decoration stuff ).

It’s in this market that I have found most of my souvenirs from Mexico City.
You know those little boxes featuring small dressed skeletons? welln I like them so much I have bought at least ten!

Although this market seems more touristy than the others, I was surprised by the very few people who were there. With my friends, we were practically the only ones!

The atmosphere is nice, sellers are friendly, which doesn’t hurt!

If you have the opportunity to visit Mexico City, and if visiting many markets is not really your thing, then I think this is the one you should go to!

-

-

“Dias de los Muertos” was only in a few days, and it was really showing. Especially in the bakeries.

This is the moment for the Mexicans to get their “ofrendas”, the offerings that will subsequently be given to their ancestors .

A visit to the pastry Ideal made me realize the big deal it actually was.

The place was swarming with people, and the boxes containing the famous “Pan de Muerto” was in constant replenishment for the stands.

Since I came from France especially for Dias de los Muertos, seing this brought me even closer to the Mexican culture.

Great pictures again. I love how colorful they are. That was one of my favorite things when I visited Cozumel, the bright colors everywhere. They transmit such a happy feeling, even when it’s for a darker sort of holiday like dia de los muertos.

Then I think you would like this place : https://pbs.twimg.com/media/A-2M-qbCQAAnUnE.jpg:large
You certainly should check up Puebla and Guanajuato, I’m from Mexico and I’m sure that those places are more magical than the capital. The picture is from a small café at “Boulevard del Sapo”, it’s so Mexican, I love Puebla. I’m glad people come to my country and see the beauty in those small things :)

Hi Dear,

I’m so happy to see these images from my country. Really lovely.
It’s a pitty that you didn’t go to Patzcuaro in Michoacan, it is The place where the most authentic and intense día de los muertos is celebrated. It’s an absolutely magical town, I’ve never been during dia de los muertos because it’s so crowded but it’s one of my dreams.

Wow!!
